Loving the Library

It is the mission of the Terrebonne Parish Library System is to provide to all segments of Terrebonne Parish’s diverse population a comprehensive collection of library resources and services necessary to satisfy the evolving informational needs and recreational pursuits of the community, thus enhancing the quality of life in Terrebonne Parish.

The library system has four primary roles. It will provide current materials of high interest in a variety of formats for persons of all ages. It will provide timely, accurate information and services employing a well-trained and motivated library staff. It will provide resources which are technologically advanced. And it will serve as a door to learning for children by promoting the enjoyment of reading, learning, and libraries by providing materials and programs.

This fall the Terrebonne Parish Library System is rolling out yet another fantastic line up of activities including toddler, baby and family story times, crafts workshop, recipe exchange, oil painting classes book discussions and much more. Featured upcoming activities include:

Ms. Baumgarten, an actress and costumer, will entertain as well as educate as she performs stories from folklore and fairy tales. Her past experiences include performing in “Charlotte’s Web” at Rivertown Repertory Theatre and costuming the cast of “Wanna Play” at Summer Stage’s Children Theater in New Orleans. Thanks to funding from the Houma Regional Arts Council and Friends of the Library, this program is possible.
